Cyber news reporter Kerry Tomlinson launched Cyber Giraffe in 2021 to help people of all technical skills and knowledge learn about the cyber world we depend on for work, play, and communications with friends and family.

The mission: to simplify things that may seem complicated so all of us can survive and enjoy ‘the cybers’ as unscathed as possible.

After decades in TV news and multiple Emmy Awards, Kerry has a keen eye for news stories, investigations, compelling storytelling, and video. She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief for cyber news organization Ampere News.

Kerry earned her SANS Security Awareness Professional certification in 2019 and received the SANS Difference Maker Award in 2021.

She has reported from Russia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, the Philippines, Turkey, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and more.

She travels the world looking for creative and compelling ways to show people what is happening in the digital world and how it impacts them.

Please enjoy Cyber Giraffe and Ampere News and share these stories with friends, family, co-workers and more!

Why the name cyber giraffe?

Giraffes have long necks, a reminder that cybersecurity experts currently recommend long passwords. Plus, giraffes are pretty cool creatures!
